Summary: 2/5 Smashing Pumpkins (Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin) + 3/5 indie credibility (David Pajo, Matt Sweeney, and Paz Lenchantin) = 5/5 great album and great band meant to implode ASAP; Roman Catholic rock in the non-fundie, U2 sense; Lenchantin's harmonies, contrasting Corgan's signature whine, brings an added feminine element missing in several Smashing Pumpkins recordings (but ironically ever-present in live Pumpkins shows).

Start with: Fast-forward track 13 four minutes to the "Mary Star of the Sea" opus; otherwise start with "Lyric."
